How to report a claim

  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses.
  • Please add copies of the documents related to the accident (airport statements for delayed baggage, documents related to medical treatment received, etc.).
  • If you are unable to add documents, please send them via WhatsApp (+371 26 553 320) or e-mail indicating the number of the claim's case.

After sending the application

After filling out an online application, you will receive an SMS as confirmation that the application has been registered.
If additional documents will be needed, we will contact you.
Our remuneration specialist will make a decision on the remuneration within 10 working days after receiving all the necessary documents.

Medical Treatment

Medical assistance

If you need professional medical assistance during the trip, go to the nearest medical institution indicated by the hotel receptionist or information service. In urgent cases, use a local ambulance service.

If treatment costs are insignificant, the easiest and quickest way of settling accounts for the medical treatment received is to pay by themselves. At the medical institution, definitely ask for a payment confirming document that specifies the purpose of the payment and a medical statement of diagnosis. You should also keep the doctor’s prescription and receipts of the medications purchased.

When you return to Latvia:

  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses;
  • Attach to the application for indemnification of losses a document confirming the need for the service (service provider’s statement confirming the scope of the services provided and the diagnosis, doctor’s prescription);
  • Attach to the application for indemnification of losses a financial document confirming the payment for the service (cash register’s receipt containing: service provider’s details, such as name, registration number, address; service recipient’s personal data, such as first name, surname, personal identification number; name of service, scope and price). If this information is not indicated on the receipt, you will need a strict accountability bill, which contains the missing information.

If treatment costs are high and your available funds are insufficient to pay for medical services, call to the phone numbers of the If P&C Insurance Latvian branch or CORIS RIGA Global Services SIA, or Global Medical Management (if you are in South America or North America) indicated in your insurance policy, give your first name, surname, policy number and validity period and inform about the assistance needed. After policy data verification, payment for services will be guaranteed to the medical institution.

Transportation and repatriation

In the event you need transportation to return to the country of residence because of illness or injury that occurred during the trip, call to the phone numbers of the If P&C Insurance Latvian branch or CORIS RIGA Global Services SIA, or Global Medical Management (if you are in South America or North America) indicated in your insurance policies.

Death

If any of the insured persons dies during the trip, immediately contact the If P&C Insurance Latvian branch or CORIS RIGA Global Services SIA, or Global Medical Management (if you are in South America or North America) by calling to the phone numbers indicated in your insurance policy.

Luggage - damaged, lost or delayed

Luggage Delay

If luggage delivery to travel destination is delayed for more than 4 hours due to carrier’s fault, and you need therefore to purchase essentials (clothes, shoes, hygiene products), save the payment confirming documents of the purchase of these goods. You will be reimbursed 70% of these expenses. Request from the carrier a confirmation document of the luggage delay and a note stating the date and time of luggage receipt.

Indemnity is not provided for expenses incurred in connection with luggage delay when returning to Latvia.

Damage of the luggage

If, upon arrival at the travel destination, you find that your luggage is damaged, request from the carrier a confirmation document for delivery of damaged luggage. You should keep the damaged luggage for which you want to claim compensation and show it to the insurer upon request, as well as receipts for repairing the damaged luggage, or if it was damaged beyond repair a receipt for the purchase of an equivalent new suitcase.

Loss of the luggage

If, upon arrival at the travel destination, you find that your luggage is lost, request from the carrier a confirmation document for lost luggage.

As soon as possible after returning to Latvia:

  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses;
  • Attach to the application for indemnification of losses a document confirming the loss of luggage as well as a list of items lost (in the case of loss of the luggage);
  • A completed application form may also be sent by email, fax, or it may be submitted personally.

Travel cancellation or interruption

Trip cancellation

If you are unable to go on a trip:

  • You must immediately cancel the effective flight, hotel and other travel related reservations;
  • Request and save the documents confirming cancellation of reservations or effected payments for tickets;
  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses;
  • Attach to the application for indemnification losses confirming documents;
  • A completed application form may also be sent by email, fax, or it may be submitted in person.

Travel interruption or delay

If you have to return home from a trip earlier than expected, or if public transport has arrived late at a transfer destination, and you miss the next flight:

  • Request from the carrier a statement regarding the cause of transport delay.

As soon as possible after returning to Latvia:

Third party liability insurance

If, during the trip, you have caused damage to life, health or property of a third party (for instance, in a skiing collision with another skier, who therefore needs medical treatment, or when an exhibition artwork is damaged as a result of your child’s mischief):

  • Immediately notify the If P&C Insurance AS Latvian branch about the incident;
  • Make sure to obtain documents confirming the fact and amount of loss, including a written claim of the affected third party or its representatives regarding the damage caused.

As soon as possible after returning to Latvia:

  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses;
  • Attach to the application for indemnification of losses documents confirming the loss, including the written claim from the third party or its representatives regarding the damage or injury caused;
  • A completed application form may also be sent by email, fax, or it may be submitted personally.

Legal aid

In the event you need legal aid during the trip:

  • Immediately notify the If P&C Insurance AS Latvian branch or
  • CORIS RIGA Global Services SIA, or Global Medical

Management (if you are in South America or North America) by calling to the phone numbers indicated in your insurance policy.

As soon as possible after returning to Latvia:

  • Fill out an online application for indemnification of losses;
  • Attach to the application for indemnification of losses documents confirming the loss, including a document confirming the necessity to receive the legal aid as well as a document confirming conclusion of the deal of legal aid;
  • A completed application form may also be sent by email, fax, or it may be submitted in person.
